Accra Hearts of Oak head coach Frank Nuttall says he's pleased with the performance of Cosmos Dauda, adding that criticisms of the striker is inappropriate.

Dauda finished as the club's leading scorer in the 2015/16 season with 11 goals but he has only netted once in the new campaign.

The striker got off the mark in the 4-2 win over Bechem United last Wednesday.

"I am very pleased with Cosmos Dauda today and I am very happy for him," the Scot told after the striker netted his first goal of the campaign.

"Cosmos takes a lot of criticism which I do not think is appropriate. He works very hard for the team and he hasn’t played 90 minutes for a while but he is trying very, very hard in training; and he is working, working, working so I am really pleased for him and he deserved his goal."

Hearts will play as guests of Ashgold on Saturday and Cosmos will be looking to add to his tally after scoring a brace against the Miners in Obuasi last season.
