Accra Hearts of Oak head coach Frank Nuttall admits he expected a tough game from Sporting Mirren adding that he’s happy to see his side qualify for the next round.

The Phobians beat Division One side Sporting Mirren 2-1 to progress to the round of 32 of the 2017 MTN FA CUP.

Patrick Razak put Hearts back in the lead after Jewel Arthur cancelled out Anthony Nimo’s first half opener.

Speaking after the game, coach Nuttall says he’s happy to avoid an upset against the lower side

“It was as we predicted because it’s a cup game and then we were expecting a tough game so as predicted we are just happy to get through the game and get through to the next round because there were a couple of teams in the topflight that got knocked out yesterday,” he told

Three topflight sides were knocked out of the competition by lower league opponents with Ashgold, Aduana, and Tema Youth suffering upsets.

Hearts await the draw to know their opponents for the round of 32 of the 2017 MTN FA CUP competition.
