Accra Hearts of Oak defender Fatawu Mohammed was named the NASCO Man-of-the-Match in Hearts’ 2-1 win over WAFA on Monday.

The utility player was shifted back to right-back with Anthony Nimo out injured, and he played a yeoman’s game in Hearts’ 2-1 win over WAFA.

Fatawu held hostage of the right flank and played like a wingback, joining the attack and most importantly helping the defense when it mattered most with his desire, determination, and sheer will power.

He was a constant threat to WAFA on the right side of attack and he forced Razak Abalora into a great save in the second half.

Fatawu could have also ended the game with an assist but Thomas Abbey and Kwame Kizito could not find target from his inviting cross.

Hearts could have had three or four players winning the man-of-the-match award with Winful Cobbinah, Thomas Abbey, Richard Akrofi, and Leonard Tawiah putting up brilliant displays.

However, Fatawu got the nod and he is the deserved winner of the NASCO man-of-the-match award. Congrats, Fatawu.
