Accra Hearts of Oak striker Samuel Yeboah believes the hard work and determination from the players facilitated the convincing 3-0 victory over Liberty Professionals.

A brace from Thomas Abbey and a lovely goal from Cosmos Dauda ensured Hearts beat Liberty 3-0 at the Dansoman Park last Sunday.

The Phobians had only won one game on the road before the scintillating display against the Scientific Soccer Lads, and Yeboah, who lasted 85 minutes on the field, says the result was from the team’s hard work and determination.

“This result was got through our hard work and determination,” Yeboah told

“As you can see, we are focused and we want to take it game by game and I think we are improving on our performance and at the end of the league, we can do something.”

The veteran striker had missed a glorious chance to put Hearts in the lead in the 28th minute, choosing to pass instead of firing on target, but he insists it was all part of the game plan.

“Oh my chance, Well, it was a nice idea,” he said. “Sometimes you know, you have to be unselfish. This is European football; when you get to the line, you need to bring the ball back. You do not have to shot at goal from the line, you need to bring the ball back and if my colleague was a little faster enough, he could have finished it.”

He added: “The fans should keep supporting the team and even if things are not going well, we want them to support the team. We need their support and I know if they come in their numbers, we will also make them happy.”
