MATCH PREVIEW; Accra Hearts of Oak will host Bolga AllStars in the match-day 18 fixture of the 2016/17 Ghana Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, 9th June, 2017.
The Phobians will be looking to respond instantly after suffering one of their heaviest defeats in the 21st century in the last game and will be going all out to hand Bolga AllStars a similar infliction to atone for their defeat on Friday.
Hearts have been in fine form at home in the new season and have been invincible at the Accra Sports Stadium in all competitions this campaign. Five victories and four draws have been recorded by the Phobians at home in the league and they will be seeking to add Bolga AllStars to their list of casualties.
Bolga AllStars have been poor travellers in their debut campaign having lost seven of their last eight trips on the road. Ashgold are the only side they have picked a point off in this season on their away trips.
However, the Phobians will be well reminded of what happened in Tamale the last time they faced "The Stars of the East". Vincent Atingah headed Hearts in front in as early as the first minute but the hosts pulled a goal back through substitute Alhassan Ibrahim.
Captain Thomas Abbey put Hearts back in the lead but the hosts completed a remarkable turnaround to lead 3-2 after the break. Ivorian import Alex Kouami drew Hearts level but in the end, the Phobians were handed a big lesson on how to not take your foot off the gas until the job is done in the league.
Following from the harrowing defeat at the hands of WAFA last Sunday, fans are expecting a reaction from the players and nothing but victory on Sunday will lift the morose morales of the OAKTREE family on Friday.
MATCH FACTS: The two sides have met only once since the promotion of Bolga AllStars to the Premier League. Half-a-dozen goals were scored when the two teams met in Tamale in the first round with either side netting 3 each.
