Accra Hearts of Oak U20 side Auroras Football Club moved to the top of the Greater Accra Regional Division 2B league after beating Ga Dangbe FC 2-0 at the Tesano Police Depot Park on Friday.

Mawunyo Jobino Agolo and Ebenezer Kojo Andoh scored in the second half of the game to hand Auroras all three points on the day.

The young Phobians have slowly hit top form in the season after a poor start and though they were made to wait for the goals in the second half, they carved out multiple chances in the first but were unable to take them against the resolute Dangbe defense.

Six minutes after the restart, coach Seth Hoffmann's side took the deserved lead through the impressive Agolo, who took his season tally to four goals from 8 games.

Auroras had enough chances to extend their lead but they were once again made to wait for a late strike through Ebenezer Andoh. The young striker scored his first of the campaign with a cool finish to lift Auroras to the top of the league ahead of the remaining fixtures for the weekend.

The young Phobians could lose top spot if Prestige FC or Thunder FC pick up points on Saturday and Sunday, but for now, Auroras have taken the lead with 15 points from a possible 24 in their zone.
