MATCH PREVIEW: Accra Hearts of Oak and Wa AllStars will battle out for a place in the finals of the 2017 MTN FA CUP at the Len Clay Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The Phobians are aiming to reach their first final in the competition since 2000 when they last won the Cup and Wa AllStars stand their way.

Hearts slowly gathered momentum in the FA Cup beating lower division sides Sport Mirren (2-1), Kotoku Royals (4-0), Young Wise (0-1), and Danbort (1-0) on the path to the semi-finals, but this will be the first time they come up against a Premier Division side.

Wa AllStars took a quiet route to the final overcoming Dark Horses FC (2-0), Bolga AllStars (2-0), Samartex (2-1), and Berekum Chelsea (2-0) in this year’s competition to reach the semi-finals.

The two sides have met once this season but they will square off two times in four days in the month of October.

Hearts beat AllStars 2-1 in the league with Alexandre Kouami and Thomas Abbey hitting target in a keenly contested game in the month of February.

This will however be the first meeting between Hearts and AllStars at this stage of the MTN FA CUP competition. The Phobians have seen their Cup dreams cut short at this stage in their last two semis but they would be aiming to better their luck when they face AllStars on Sunday.
